Happy Halloween

Oct. 31st, 2005 | 11:40 pm

Happy Halloween!

Mine was a relatively quiet evening spent at home today 'though I ended up going to Plush last Friday. The guys who dressed up like the Ghostbusters rocked, the guy who was an Ipod Shuffle cracked me up, and there were too many sexy cops, naughty nurses, Bond girls, and French maids.

I ended up winning Canucks tickets in an office draw to go see them play against Minnesota Wild this coming Wednesday. I get to see Linden in action! *swoon* hehe!

Got things lined up to do for the next 2 weeks 'cause everyone in my family 'cept me and my bro are on a trip. Let the running amok begin! :D

Long Weekend Summary

Camping was AWESOME.

It was just what I needed - getting away from everything and having no responsibilities for the past couple of days. I feel sooo relaxed. It wasn't actual camping but more of luxury camping - staying in cabins hehe :)

Played lots of volleyball, kayaked, suntanned on the dock, etc.

Ended up getting plenty of mosquito bites (I have my left hand swollen because of one bite), two major bruises on my knees because of playing capture the flag in the dark with just glowsticks, and finally a few cuts when I decided to jump off the dock into the water just for fun in my regular clothes haha! Needed help getting back on the dock with my friends 'cause it was slippery and had barnacles on the side :X

Kayaking Adventure

Jun. 22nd, 2005 | 11:12 pm
mood: cheerfulcheerful

Yesterday, I went kayaking with my friends for the first time and it turned out to be loads of fun! :D Ended up renting 2 double kayaks at English Bay and kayaked around Stanley Park to Siwash Rock and then back to English Bay. I was all paranoid about falling into the water but that didn't happen to me :) I ended up being the person who steered the kayak, and I think I did a pretty good job of it compared to the other kayak *cough* When we first started out, the other kayak was doing alright but then they started to umm... intrude into the swimming area at the beach. A girl in the water ended up asking them if they needed her to push them back out into the ocean LOL! The weather was alright, cloudy yet warm, but halfway through, it started to rain and we were paddling madly to get back to shore. Of course, the 2nd kayak had trouble getting the kayak up to the shoreline ;) One of the very first tips the rental guy told us was to head into the waves, if we went alongside the waves the kayak would tip over easily. They were very close to the shore but had trouble getting the kayak to stay in the sand 'cause they were alongside with the beach and the waves kept on hitting the kayak. One of them had to stick their paddle in the sand to make sure they didn't tip over! LOL It was fun 'though it ended up raining sorta hard and nobody thought to bring an umbrella. So we ended up being wet and soggy as we walked into the nearby Milestone's for dinner 'though I'm slightly sick today from being cold and wet =X
